PUBLIC RELATIONS COORDINATOR – INTERNSHIP
Position: Public Relations Coordinator (1)
Status: Internship – Unpaid (w/option of college credit) – 5-10 hours a week
Time Frame: minimum of 5-6 months commitment

General Description:
The Public Relations Coordinator will communicate the work and mission of The AjA Project to the community as well as assist in maintaining the agency press database, contributing ideas to the creation of press and marketing materials.
Responsibilities:
- Generating and maintaining communications with stakeholders
- Performing media relations activities, including reaching out to local media, fostering relationships with local media organizations, pitching to media, and reviewing coverage related to organization
- Coordinating and assisting with special events relating to The AjA Project
- Creating and implementing public relations plans for The AjA Project
- Updating media lists
- Writing press releases
Requirements:
- Tolerance and acceptance of differing religious and political views
- Previous experience in event planning and public relations
- General working knowledge of MAC computers, Internet communications, Microsoft Office, especially Excel spreadsheet management and graphic illustrations
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to organize work, prioritize multiple tasks, and follow through on own initiative
- Strong contributor in team environments
