FUNDRAISING COORDINATOR – INTERNSHIP

Position:  Fundraising Coordinator (1)
Status:  Internship – Unpaid (w/option of college credit) – Approx 15 hrs/week
Time Frame: minimum of 5-6 months commitment

General Description:
The position includes organizing and managing fundraising events and campaigns for The AjA Project.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise and assist in the development of an organization-wide fundraising strategy, plan and budget
  • Conducts research on prospect individuals, foundations and corporations while assisting the Executive Director with identifying prospect contact information  
  • Make initial contacts and communicate to Executive Director about securing available funding
  • Supports Executive Director in preparing and managing approved annual fundraising budgets and timelines
  • Assist Operations Director in submission of proposals, grants and budgets
  • Support Operations Director with The AjA Project’s annual membership campaign
  • Manage, maintain and strengthen donor tracking and fundraising systems
  • Develop sponsorship materials
  • Identify corporate prospects and proper contacts

Requirements:

  • Tolerance and acceptance of differing religious and political views
  • Previous experience in event planning and public relations
  • General working knowledge of MAC computers, Internet communications, Microsoft Office, especially Excel spreadsheet management and graphic illustrations
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to organize work, prioritize multiple tasks, and follow through on own initiative
  • Experience working and communicating with ethnically diverse communities
  • Strong contributor in team environments
